How public places are used in Seoul?

The cities of the 21st Century are theoretically, through migration and mass mobility, as diverse as never before. But nevertheless, it is increasingly difficult to experience, or to live this cultural diversity. The number of 'real' public places are shrinking, for economic reasons and because through the influence of investors on city planning.

In the 19th and 20th Century public places, at least in European cities,  were places of diversity and democratization - they were places of interaction and exchange. Today I ask myself, where have they gone, these open spaces? Where can you still find places, where people can meet, regardless of race, religion, sex, and income?

... a self made possibility ?

Near the Danginli power plant you will find a self made version of a public place.

Ok you are sitting in the drain, but they did everything for you, that you will find a place to sit.
A public place ? The owner of the FamilyMart did it.

KEB Plaza - when starts the loitering ?

Today I found a silent relaxing place in the heart of Seoul.

But it is not a public place.

Further restrictions are: don't drink, don't smoke, don't lie down,
don't wear high heels on the green gras.

And you don't feel really welcome.
